IronVLC 0.1 release
=========================

This distribution contains the IronTweetdeck bundle, a sandbox wrapper for
the popular VLC video decoder client running on MacOS.

We created this for our own needs, but believe that it can be useful for
others as well, and thus released it under the BSD license for everyone
to use.

Included in this distribution you also find "design.txt" a document that
describes both our philosopy as well as more details on what we block or
allow in the IronTweetdeck sandbox wrapper.

This wrapper has been tested on MacOSX 10.6.3 and 10.6.4 with VLC 1.0.5
but is believed to work with earlier MacOSX 10.6 versions.

We have tested it as a client with DVD records, local movies stored as files
in ~/Movies, and streamed movies. Server features, multicasting, etc, is
yet to be explored.

There is a configuration file called

    /Applications/IronVLC.app/Contents/Resources/IronVLC.config

that you might want to examine. It defines directories for which to
allow IronVLC read or write access. As well as the device file associated
with the DVD player. It must be specified as a raw device (filename starting
with 'r').

Remember, VLC cannot read or write outside the directories specified by this
file. This is the purpose of the IronSuite tools - to help protect you against
malicious
